The History of Old Victoria Process Service |

|
Old Victoria Process Service has been in the document serving business since the Government privatized some of the court services in about 1983. Dave & Yvonne Owens were let go from the Sheriff's Office in Victoria at that time so they walked across the street and opened an office on the 7th floor of a building which looked down on the Victoria Court House. A year later when their lease was up there, they moved one block away to Broughton St., where they operated from the same address till the fall of 2007. At that time they moved their office to 677 Mt. View Ave., in Victoria. Having proven themselves year after year they have found that many of the legal secretaries and clients have dealt with them since the day they opened their business and even before that. Mind you, in that length of time many of them have retired too. Many of the persons that Dave has served over the years have come to him when they needed someone served and asked him if he would do the job for them. Through there expertise Dave and Yvonne have managed to either locate or serve many people that have previously proven quite difficult to serve. One interesting story is a when a lawyer called and asked Dave to try and find the ex husband and daughter of a lady who had passed away in Victoria. They had divorced somewhere around 1947 and the husband had moved to Kenya taking the daughter with him. The gentleman would have been in his 90's and it was assumed he may have been deceased also but Dave was asked to do his best. Now remember, years ago Kenya was a very dangerous country and ruled by very fierce natives. After almost four months working on this file Dave had managed to converse over the internet with people in Kenya who provided him with the information he was looking for. He found that the old gentleman had indeed passed away. He also learned that the daughter had been killed in an automobile accident about 1970 and conversed with the person who was driving the car she was killed in. Not only that, but information as to what cemetery each was buried in was also provide. He was not able to contact the daughters husband who is still alive as he was on a trip somewhere around Mt Kilimanjaro. He tried but the mans cell phone could not be reached. The lawyer was very impressed and very happy with the results |
